Working Lifeguard!

Well, what do ya know, I finally got the job! I'm pretty excited. I love it and greatly injoy working with the people I've been scheduled with at the moment. I thank god for giving me the money and time to have been able to complete all my training. I'm also thankful for the time my parents put into driving me to courses and such. Without them I wouldnt have been able to do it. I havent been given a lesson set this time around because I left last week for vancouver, for an Above Rubies retreat. So at the moment I just have guarding hours which I'm greatful for.

Finished and Completed!

Well I’m all done! As my title states I am finished and completed! It feels so awesome to be done with it all finally! It’s been four years since I’ve started all my lifeguarding. I took Jr. Lifeguard in 2008, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and AWSI in 2009 waited a couple years and then took NLS, Standard First Aid and Workplace Emergency in August 2011 and just finished WSI this week.

WSI was a pretty fun course. Almost boring compared to NLS J. It involved a lot of paperwork and reading. Going through 20 different levels and making lesson plans took a lot of time up. We did some screening and I realized I need to work on my Breaststroke. I’m fine with every other swimming stroke; it’s just that one I have difficult with. So, I’ll probably be going in and practicing.  So now that I’m done I will be handing in my resume again and hoping for the best! Crosses fingers! Wish me luck cause I hope to be hired sometime next week! :S

NLS

So today was day two if our NLS class. Unfortunately I forgot the batteries for my camera so I wasn’t able to take any pictures of our first day. L Sorry about that. Anyhow, it’s been great fun. Commuting back and forth to Kitimat hasn’t been too bad. We spent the first two days at the fire hall going over first aid and everything! I’m learning a lot. Our teacher has been great making the class fun and interesting. I’m super excited to start in the water tomorrow! Here are some pictures of our second day. Enjoy!
